Forty eight visits were made to houses prior to issuing
letters to enable builders to obtain permits for wood from
the Timber Control.
SCABIES.
Much time was again spent and many visits made in
connection with the treatment of persons suffering from
Scabies.
Assistance was also given in dealing with a number
of persons affected with head lice.
The above entailed much work out of office hours.
INFECTIOUS DISEASES.
The following number of rooms were disinfected for
the undermentioned causes :—
Scarlet Fever 137
Diphtheria 1
Tuberculosis 35
Vermin—
Houses 1
Booms 11
Puerperal Pyrexia 2
Cerebro-Spinal Fever 1
Other 16
One Public Elementary School was disinfected'
throughout during the year.
Two hundred and ninety-four books from the Public
Library and Schools were disinfected for various reasons.
Fourteen loads of bedding were removed for steam
disinfection and two for destruction.
In addition to the above, 24 blankets, 15 mattresses,
11 cushions and pillows from various posts and shelters
have been disinfected or disinfested.
