SANITARY ADMINISTRATION.
ANNUAL REPORT
of
THE SANITARY INSPECTOR
1943
Public Health Department,
Municipal Offices,
New Malden.
To the Mayor, Aldermen and Councillors.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have the pleasure to submit my twenty-fourth
annual report of work accomplished and matters of interest
concerning the Sanitary Department, which owing to the
present exceptional circumstances will again be necessarily
curtailed.
For the purpose of abating nuisances and executing
repairs to render houses fit for human habitation, the
following notices were served :—
Preliminary. Formal.
Notices served 130 53
Complied 120 40
Remain outstanding 10 13
It was found necessary to apply to the Courts for
Nuisance Orders in regard to six houses.
Owing to the financial difficulties of the owners, repairs
of a fairly extensive nature were carried out at a number
of houses by a Contractor working under my supervision
and paid by the Council. By agreement the owners are
refunding the cost by monthly instalments.
