Twenty-one complaints were received and dealt with during the year.
Several residents in the St. Helier South Ward complained of excessive
deposit of grit in that area and an exhaustive investigation was made
involving the chemical analysis of deposits collected at selected sites in the
area. Examination of the reports provided no evidence that such atmospheric
deposits as were found emanated from any particular source and
the most feasible interpretation of the findings was that domestic smoke
was the cause of the complaint.
Prevention of Damage by Pests Act, 1949
