Milk (Special Designations) Order, 1936.
Licences to retail milk under the above Order were issued by the
Council, as follows:—
Licences to use the term " Tuberculin Tested " 7
Licences to use the term " Pasteurised " 10
Supplementary Licences to use the term " Tuberculin
Tested " 11
Supplementary Licences to use the term "Pasteurised" 12
Meat and Other Foods.
Most of the meat supplied to the district comes in from the
London and Croydon Markets already inspected, but periodical inspections
were made of all premises and vehicles where meat and food is
stored, prepared or sold for human consumption.
There is only one slaughterhouse (at present registered) used in
this district, and action under the Food and Drugs Act, 1938, with
regard to this slaughterhouse was being considered at the end of the
year.

The number of carcases examined at the slaughterhouse was as follows:—

The total food condemned was:—
3 pigs' plucks.
5 sets pigs' lungs.
1 pig's liver.
7 lbs. salmon.
30 lbs. mackerel.
24 lbs. herrings' roes.
8 stone skate wings.
5 stone dog fish.
13 lbs. English lamb.
26 lbs. English beef.
There are 35 purveyors of meat with shops in the district and
several hawkers with vans who come from other districts.
