2657 (Informal)Chocolate Cream PastriesThe filling of this article consisted of a substance resembling cream, but consisted of 65% milk fat and 35% fat other than milk fat.Informed the Chief Public Health Inspector of Hove of the infringement, as the pastries were made and the Notice sent from a Hove bakery firm.
A notice prominently-exhibited in the shop stated "Only fresh pasteurised cream used in our pastries. No synthetic or imitation fillings".The Hove Borough Council subsequently, successfully prosecuted the bakers concerned in respect of selling 'Cream Meringues', 'Cream Sponge' and 'Cream Splits' which were not of the substance demanded, and for selling food containing a substance which resembled cream in appearance, but was not cream.

2744 (Informal)Glycerin Lemon and Honey with IpecacuanhaLabelling Infringement This article contained about 25% v/v of sugar syrup, which was not stated in the title.Cautioned A more accurate description would have been ' Syrup' of Honey, Glycerin and Lemon with Ipecacuanha. The manufacturing chemists were informed of the infringement, but the matter was still under discussion at the year end.
2772 (Informal)Goat CheeseLabelling Infringement This article was made from a mixture of cows' and goats' milk in which the cows' milk preponderated.Cautioned The importers on being informed of the infringement immediately had new labels printed which read "Whey Cheese made from cows' and goats' milk and cream".
