PROMOTION OF CLEANLINESS, ETC.
The Scheme for head and cleanliness inspections in the
schools worked satisfactorily during the year. Literature
on this subject has been distributed at the Infant Welfare
Centres and the Health Visitors have also continued to give
advioe to parents on the subject of cleanliness and good
hygiene.

INFANT WELFARE CLINICS.

There are five Infant Welfare Clinics; 14 sessions for infant consultations are held weekly and 5 breast feeding clinics.

CONVALESCENT TREATMENT.
As in previous years whore necessary convalescent treatment
for children under five has been provided by the Corporation.
DENTAL TREATMENT OF CHILDREN UNDER FIVE YEARS.
During the year, the numbers of children under 5 years of
age who received dental treatment were:-
New Cases 163
Total attendances 693
OPHTHALMIC TREATMENT OF CHILDREN UNDER FIVE YEARS,
During the year, the numbers of children under 5 years
of age examined by the Ophthalmic Surgeon were:-
First attendance 50
Total attendances 122
Dental and Ophthalmic treatment are free to children
under five.
