MILK AMD OTHER FOODS, ETC.
During the year, 22 applications for assisted supplies of
dried nilk and other foods were granted in necessitous cases
and supplied free of charge. The total cost of goods supplied
was £15.8.5.
CHILD LIFE PROTECTION.
All the Health Visitors are appointed Child Life Protection
Visitors and each visitor is responsible for carrying out the
supervision of the foster hones in her own district. The
nuriber of visits paid to foster children during the year was 589

CARE OF PREMATURE BABIES.
Two special cots for the care of premature babies are kept
at the Hollies Ambulance Depot and are available in an emergency
day or night, During 1947, nine calls were received for
these cots.
ADOPTION OF CHILDREN (REGULATION) ACT, 1939
General supervision in cases of adoption was carried out in
accordance with the Act. The number of visits paid by Health
Visitors for the purpose of supervision was 131.
