Slaughter-houses
Three licences were renewed during the year.
Consideration of the condition of two slaughter-houses was again
deferred pending the execution of essential repairs.
Slaughter of Animals Act, 1933
Nine slaughter-men were on the register of the
Department at the end of the year.
FOOD INSPECTION
Diseased and unsound conditions found in the animals
dealt with caused the detention and surrender for destruction of
a total weight in carcases and offal of 607 lbs. details of which
are given in the following table:-
Beef 498 lbs.
Mutton & Lamb 29 lbs.
Pork 80 lbs.

The following foodstuffs other than meat, being unfit for human consumption were voluntarily surrendered for destruction: -
