These figures indicate that some ice-creams were containing a good
percentage of fat. All these details were forwarded to the Ministry, as
requested by that body.
Ice Cream Samples (Bacteriological Standard).
One hundred and thirty-four samples of ice-cream were purchased and
submitted to the Counties Public Health Laboratories for examination,
table given below shows the reports of the Laboratories.
Of the 134 specimens submitted, 71 were in Grade I, of the Ministry
of Health's provisional grading, 29 were in Grade II, 27 were in Grade
and 7 in Grade IV.
Shown as percentages:—
52.9% (approx.) were in Grade I.
21.8% (approx.) were in Grade II.
20.1% (approx.) were in Grade III.
5.2% (approx.) were in Grade IV.
