No definite number of beds is assigned to either authority,
but on the basis of the amount of money spent by each in the
upkeep of the Hospitals, it may be said that there are 45 beds
(37 at Mogden, and 8 at Dockwell) for Richmond, and 29 beds
(24 at Mogden, and 5 at Dockwell) for Heston and Isleworth.
Cases removed to Hospital.
During the year, 191 of the 246 cases notified were removed
to Hospital. Of these 191, 30 were admitted to the Infirmary, 5
entered Metropolitan Asylums Boards' Hospital, one was treated
in the Military Hospital, and one in the Hounslow Hospital, leaving
154 chargeable to the District Rate at Mogden Hospital, and 1
at Dockwell Hospital.
Scarlet Fever.
The following table shews the number of cases which have
been notified, and the number and percentage of cases which
have been removed to Hospital :—

The incidence rate of Scarlet Fever in the population was
1.9 per 1,000, as compared with 2 8 last year.
Ten cases occurred in public institutions in the district, 5
of the persons affected being non-residents.
The prevalence of the disease was greatest in January and
December.
The disease continues to be of a mild type, only one death
having taken place from this cause during the year.
Diphtheria.
The following table shews the number of notifications received,
and the percentage of cases of Diphtheria removed to Hospital:—
