The steady reduction of the Infant Death Rate in the district
during the last twenty years is shewn by the following graph :—
INFECTIOUS DISEASE.
Table II. at the end of the report shews the various iufectious
diseases notified during the year, and the incidence of these
diseases at various age-periods and in the different wards of the
district.
Isolation Hospital Accommodation.
This district, with the Borough of Richmond (Surrey), maintains
two Isolation Hospitals :—
(1). Mogden Hospital for Scarlet Fever, Diphtheria,
Enteric Fever, and, accommodation permitting, Puerperal Fever.
It has 61 beds, allowing 1,500 cubic feet of air space to each
bed.
(2). Dockwell Isolation Hospital for Small-pox. It has
13 beds, allowing 1,500 cubic feet of air space per bed.
