Dental Laboratory
Below is appended a list of the appliances completed in the
Dental Laboratory for the General Dental Service during 1951:—

During 1951 the following additional appliances were
completed for the Walthamstow and Leyton Committees for
Education :—

In addition to the above, the following work was completed
for the Regional Hospital Board :—
Bite splint appliances for correction of
temporo-mandibular disorders 15

The volume of work undertaken remains much the same as
in previous years but the balance has shifted in favour of
orthodontic and surgical appliances against the more usual prosthetic
appliances. This work requires considerably more skill and
experience.
Tests have been carried out during the year in the use of
the new denture material, chrome-cobalt steel.
A copper depositing outfit has been installed and it is hoped
to use other appliances as they are proved desirable.
