VIRUS INFECTIONS DURING PREGNANCY
Ministry of Health Enquiry Into
This enquiry extended to all the Ante-Natal Clinics including
those at Thorpe Coombe Maternity Hospital. Notices were displayed
at all, reminding expectant mothers of the need to report
the occurrence of any infectious disease at the next visit to the
Clinic.
The enquiry—which extended the observations on this matter
already carried out for several years in Walthamstow — began
towards the end of October. The purpose of the enquiry is to
collect information as to a possible relationship between virus
diseases (especially measles) during early pregnancy and congenital
defects in the child.
