E.— INSPECTION AND SUPERVISION OF FOOD
The following ds contributed by the Chief Sanitary
Inspector:—
(a) Milk Supply.
Designated Milk.
During the year 144 samples of milk were submitted to the
Counties Laboratories for bacteriological examination, including
Phosphatase, Methylene Blue and Turbidity tests.
These samples of milk were taken from roundsmen during the
course of delivery or on arrival at Schools. They include the
bi-monthly sampling of the two dairymen holding Pasteuriser's
Licences.
The following table gives details of samples taken:—

Biological Test.
Four samples of pasteurised milk were examined, all of which
were satisfactory.
The Milk (Special Designation) (Pasteurised 6? Sterilised
Milk) Regulation, 1949.
The Milk (Special Designation) (Raw Milk) Regulation, 1949.
Licences for the sale of milk under Special Designations were
granted as follows:—
Dealers' Licences. Supplementary Licences.
Pasteurised 47 Pasteurised 10
Sterilised 66 Sterilised 10
Tuberculin Tested 24 Tuberculin Tested 9
Licences (Plant).
Pasteurisers 2 Tuberculin Tested (Dealers) 2
