The conditions for which Medical Aid was summoned by Midwives
in domiciliary practice have been summarised and were as
follows:—

For complications during pregnancy:—

Medical Aid Fees.—Your Committee recommend that, as from
beginning of the next financial year, no recovery was to be obtained
from the patient in regard to medical aid fees.
Compensation for Loss of Cases.—Compensation is made to
Midwives by payment of 10s. Od. per confinement lost by reason
of the reference of the patient from the Council's Ante-Natal
Clinic to hospital on account of any abnormality. No claim for
compensation was made during 1946.
Gas and Air Analgesia.—Your Committee requested the
Health Committee to appoint an additional Municipal Ambulance
Service Driver in order to provide transport facilities for gas and
air apparatus.
