10. WALTHAMSTOW DISTRICT NURSING
ASSOCIATION.
Mrs. Drury, the Honorary Secretary, kindly reports as follows:—
"The work of the Association has made rapid progress during
the year April 1st, 1936 to March 31st, 1937.
"The accommodation being inadequate to house the increased
Staff necessary at Carisbrooke Road, the Committee decided to open
a branch home at Highams Park, and a flat was taken at 8, Castle
Avenue.
"The pressure remained acute and it was decided to rent the
whole house at Castle Avenue and to place more Nurses there.
"The Provident Scheme made very good progress, over 7,000
members being enrolled.
"The collections are made by a splendid band of voluntary
workers.
"The Groups so collected represent all the activities of the
Borough—Churches, Chapels, social and political.
"In addition to the Groups the employees of certain firms
subscribe and there are various street collectors.
"The Staff at the end of March was as follows:—
"1 Queen's Superintendent;
"1 Sister in Charge (Queen's);
"7 Queen's Nurses;
"4 Nurse-Mid wives;
''3 temporary Nurses.
