pyrexia cases. The total number of maternal deaths in the area was 5.
Infectious Disease Clinic.—As in previous years this
Clinic was held weekly on Tuesdays at 2p.m. The work done
at the Clinic is roughly that of an Out-Patient Department to
the Infectious Disease Hospital, and was specified in detail in
the Report for 1934.
The following table gives particulars of the work done
during 1935:—

Particular care was taken to refer all cases with any
suspicion either of rheumatism or of cardiac involvement to
the next following rheumatism clinic. The following extract
from Dr. Sheldon's report of the work of the clinic is taken
from the School Medical Officer's report for 1935:—
"The practice of referring children to the clinic whohave
been thought to manifest some rheumatic condition after
discharge from the isolation hospital has been continued.
