6 of the deaths were from infectious diseases, viz.,
measles 3 and diphtheria 3; and equal to a zymotic deathrate
of 4.3 per 1,000.
7 deaths occurred in various hospitals where the patients
had been sent for treatment.

B.- THE LITTLE CORAM STREET BLOCK.
Resident Superintendent, Mr. Whenman.
There are 8 blocks in these buildings inhabited by 814
persons, 684 adults, and 130 children under 5 years.
30 children were born during the year, equal-to a birthrate
of 36.8 per 1,000.
19 persons died, equal to a death-rate of 23.3 per 1,000.
There were 12 infantile deaths, and 1 infectious death,
corresponding to death-rates of 14.7 and 1.2 per 1,000
respectively.
6 of the total deaths occurred in hospitals and public
institutions.
