Officer of Health and on the 1st December I took over
personal supervision of the department. Other changes of
staff during the year were as follows
Mr. L. Kluth, Additional Sanitary Inspector, resigned
in February 1937.
Mr. J. A. Cummins appointed vice Mr. Kluth, commenced
duty on 8th March 1937.
Miss A. Gill, Senior Health Visitor resigned 31st
August 1937, and
Miss C. A. Hook way was appointed Senior Health
Visitor.
Miss M. M. Duke appointed additional Health Visitor
commenced duty on 13th September 1937.
The form of the Report is of necessity identical with
that for 1936. Generally the statistics for the year compare
favourably with those recorded for previous years.
I would like to record my appreciation of the warm
welcome extended to me by the Mayor and Corporation,
and of the friendly co-operation shewn by my fellow officers.
It will be my endeavour to continue the good work
already carried on and to extend it where extension would
seem to be required in the interest of public health.
I am, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Your obedient servant,
J. W. STARKEY,
Medical Officer of Health.
