(C) Ice Cream
There were 309 premises registered for the sale of ice cream including 10 new registrations.
There were twenty premises registered for the manufacture of ice-cream.
There were thirty-five samples of ice cream submitted for bacteriological examination during the
year four of which were unsatisfactory. Follow-up samples were taken where the first sample proved to
be unsatisfactory. The grading of the samples was as follows:-
Grade I - 27; Grade II - 3; Grade III - 2; Grade IV - 3.
(D) Other Foods
There were 112 premises on the register at the end of the year for the preparation or manufacture
of prescribed food. One new registration was made this year.
Upon examination of a large variety of foodstuffs, the following items were certified as unfit
for human consumption;
