INSPECTION AND SUPERVISION OF FOOD SUPPLIES AND PREMISES
As will be seen from the statistical Information given earlier, 2,601 visits were paid to food
premises. Although the standards of hygiene in food establishments generally Is steadily improving it
is still necessary to maintain constant vigilance at the inferior premises. It had been found on many
occasions, where owing to the depletion of staff regular visits were not paid the occupier or employees
were much too prone to slip back, to haphazard methods. However, we were able to have improvements
carried out at many premises. As usual inspections were carried out at week-ends of the mobile or
stall food places where shell-fish or jellied eels are sold and consumed.
