MATERNITY AND CHILD WELFARE CLINICS
The figures of attendance Illustrate the continuing need for these clinics.
The cardinal points which are constantly borne In mind In carrying out these
services are:-
(1) As far as possible to establish clinics In large centres of population, to
avoid long Journeys for mother and child.
(2) To ensure private consultation with health visitor or doctor when necessary.
(3) To effect full liaison with midwife, hospital and general practitioner
whenever necessary.
(4) To ensure ancillary treatments and services are fully utilized In individual
Instances.
(5) To ensure comprehensive dental care for mother and child.
(9) To foster health education in the family and the comn.unlty from the earliest
days.
(7) The diligent search for backward children (both mentally and physically
retarded) with a view to helping the child and family, and making complete
assessment of Individual potential by the time the child reaches school age
(five years).
(8) Keeping observation on the toddler up to school entry.
(9) Ensuring a good Immunisation programme for mother and child, as comprehensive
as possible.
