Blind Persons Acts, 1920/38
The objects of the East Ham Welfare Association for the
Blind are as follows :—
1. To compile a register of all Blind Persons living in the
Borough.
2. To co-operate with the Education Committee regarding
necessary investigations and arrangements for the education
of children and adults.
3. To assist all efforts for the prevention of Blindness.
4. To approach the Borough Council when necessary
respecting any cases requiring consideration.
5. To obtain Old Age and other Pensions as cases become
eligible.
6. To assist deserving Blind Persons and to do all such
other things as are considered to be for the general
welfare of the Blind.
7. To supply materials to those engaged in pastime occupations
and to market the articles they make.
8. To brighten the lives of the Blind by means of entertainments,
visiting, etc.
