25 bovines, 40 porcines, 13 sheep and 2 calves, and 2,321 parts
of carcases and animal organs.
Food Premises.
Bakehouses, fried fish shops, markets, butchers' shops, and
ice-cream manufactories were visited during the year, and the
method of inspection systematised.
Food and Drugs Adulteration.
Samples obtained by the Sanitary Inspectors for analysis
numbered 504 or 3.7 samples per thousand of population. This
is an increase of 76 samples over the previous year. One hundred
and ten samples were taken formally and 394 informally. The
number of samples found adulterated or not up to standard was
28 or 5.6 per cent.
