rail and capping studded with tenter hooks, and 9 inch oak gravel planks, the whole to be
twice tarred on both sides; the Trustees wore willing to give up the land coloured blue and
red on the plan— being 358 square feet coloured blue, and 05 square feet coloured red.
Resolved, upon the recommendation of the Committee— That Messrs. Bradshaw Brown
& Co. bo informed that the Vestry will take all reasonable precautions not to damage the
existing corrugated iron roof, but can take no responsibility in the matter; and will build a
now wall in place of the existing wall as already resolved, upon condition that 4½ inches of
the said now wall be placed upon ground belonging to the Trustees for a length of about 70
feet from the river end of the proposed now buildings, so as to form a continuous support to
the existing corrugated iron roof, such inches of the new wall to be considered a party
wall, the Trustees and the Vestry to have equal rights of usor thereto, the new wall to satisfy
the requirements of the Building Act, and to be continued on the straight give-and-take lino
as agreed, and will agree to the remaining conditions of the letter subject to the additional
land, about 65 feet superficial, to be given up by the Trustees, being at each end of the
proposed improvement to the approval of the Survoyor to the Vestry, instead of in the
ccntre as shown upon the plan.
The matter had not been completed at the close of the year.
Cart Shed, Shelter, House, Office, Workshop, etc.
These buildings were completed by the Contractors, Messrs. Henry Knight & Son, in the
month of May, 1897, to the satisfaction of the Vestry and their Surveyor, and formally
taken over from the Contractors.
Chimney Shaft.
The tender of Messrs. Henry Knight & Son, of Chesnut Road, Tottenham, for the
erection of a chimney shaft, 150 feet high, in connection with the proposed Refuse
Destructor at Hull Head Dock, at the sum of £2428 3s., was accepted by the Vestry on 5th
October, 1897.
The work has been commenced, but was not completed at the close of the year.

Note.—In the year 1884-5, the Commissioners transferred to the Loans Account outnf profits, the sum of £500 ; in 1886-7, £463 14s. 11d. ; in 1887-8, £504 4s. 1d. ; in 1888-9, £168 1s. 6d. ; in 1889-90, £431 18s.8d : in 1891-2, £55 10s. 6d. ; in 1892-3, £23 10s. 2d. ; and in 1893-4, £387 9s. 1d., making together £2534 -8s. 11d., which has been applied towards the repayment of the moneys borrowed from the Metropolitan Board of works and the Interest thereon, and in aid of the Poor Rate.
