Inquests.—There were 130 inquests held on Woolwich residents during the
year, compared with 155 in 1929.
Deaths of Children, 1—5 Years of Age.—The number of deaths of children
between 1 and 2 years of age was 29, and between 2 and 5 years, 23. In 1929
these figures were 28 and 37. The causes of death are given in detail in Table
No. 12.
The following Tables show the variation in rates of mortality in these age
groups in the last twenty years. These rates have been calculated on the estimated
populations living at these ages and in stated groups of diseases. The rates for
1930 are also given.
