Maternal Mortality.—The number of deaths from Puerperal Sepsis was 4,
and from other accidents and diseases of pregnancy, 4, making a total of 8 maternal
deaths. In 1928 and 1929 the numbers were 13 and 14. The maternal death
rate per 1,000 births was 3'66.
The following Table shows the causes of death each year since 1912:—
