Public Health (Ophthalmia Neonatorum)
Regulations, 1926.
Two cases were notified under the above-mentioned
Regulations. In one case treatment was given in hospital.
Both cases have cleared up well with vision unimpaired.
Epidemic Diarrhœa.
It is with satisfaction that one can in these days
record comparative freedom from this hitherto troublesome
infection which took such a serious toll of infants in the
past. Only one death was recorded in Bromley during
1936, which gives a mortality rate of 1.3 per 1,000 births.
The following table shows the mortality rate, per 1,000 births, for Bromley, in comparison with the rates of the country as a whole:—
