Ice Cream Sampling
During the year under review, fifty-eight samples of ice cream
were obtained and submitted to the Public Health Laboratory for
bacteriological examination. The results were:
Grade 1 57

These results can be regarded as most satisfactory.
Establishments for Massage or Special Treatment
Under the Middlesex County Council Act, 1944, fifteen
licences were renewed and one new licence granted in respect of
establishments for massage, chiropody or similar treatment.
Pet Animals Act 1951
Four licences were granted by the Council during 1960 under
the above-mentioned Act in respect of pet animal shops in the
Borough.
Swimming Bath

The figures for attendances at the Barrowell Green Open Air Swimming Bath for the past two years were:

The arrangements whereby samples of the water from the
swimming bath are taken at regular intervals has been continued.
The results of the samples taken during 1960 were uniformly satisfactory.
A notice continues to be posted at the Bath informing
the public of the results of these samples.
The attendance at the Bath of a member of the St. John
Ambulance Brigade has also been continued. This assistance is
greatly appreciated.
