POOR LAW RELIEF.
The Poor Law Relief given during the year
amounted to £5,154 5s. Id., of which £1,911 6s. 7d. was to ablebodied
unemployed and their families, and the balance to the
unemployable from age or other causes. This compares with
an amount of £5,414 Is. 6d., of which £2,853 12s. 2d. was
to unemployed and their families in the year 1924.
CAUSES OF SICKNESS.
Influenza.
An outbreak of Influenza, in 1922, was of a rather
widespread nature, but fortunately not of a very fatal
character. Protracted convalescence caused a good deal of
invalidity.
