There has been a falling-off in the number of dentures supplied to the mothers through the Council's scheme, as some of these patients have consulted private dentists for their artificial dentures following the completion of the necessary extractions.

Orthopaedic Treatment.
Primary Examinations.—During the year 28 children were
referred from the Child Welfare Clinics to the Council's Orthopaedic
Surgeon.
Re-examinations.—In addition to the 28 new cases mentioned
above, 56 children under five years of age attended for re-examination
by the Orthopaedic Surgeon.
Treatment.—Fifty-five children made 402 attendances for
special treatment by the Council's Physiotherapist.
Provision of Surgical Appliances.—Seventy-two children
had minor alterations to boots and shoes and two children were
supplied with walking calipers, one with the addition of a varus
T-strap.
Special Eye Clinic.
The Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon had referred by the
Clinic Medical Officers 124 pre¬school children, who made 151
attendances for examination and treatment.
