In October, 1948 there was established at the Essex Nurses'
Training Home, Beachcroft Road, E.ll an additional ante-natal
clinic to serve the large proportion of expectant mothers in that
part of the Borough who engage Essex Nurses' Training Home
midwives for their confinements. The establishment of this clinic
promotes closer liaison and co-operation between the Authority's
medical staff and the midwives who have been engaged for domiciliary
confinement, and mothers living in the area appreciate the
opportunity of having their ante-natal supervision conducted
" on the spot ".
Beachcroft Road Home is now equipped with modern accommodation
and facilities for ante-natal supervision.
