Fillings.Extractions.Dressings and Scalings.Local Anaesthetics.

In addition to the above, in which only six year old children
were dealt with, 79 children of different ages at the request of the
parents or teachers received treatment at the clinic. The following
work was carried out :—Fillings 39, extractions 71, dressings
and scalings 10, local anaesthetics 9 ; attendances, 107.
The total number of children, both routine and other, treated
at the clinic during the year, was 1,011.
TUBERCULOSIS.
School children whose condition suggests that they are
possibly suffering from tuberculosis are referred by the School
Medical Officer to the Tuberculosis Officer for his opinion. Those
found to be affected with tuberculosis as a rule attend the dispensary
for treatment; others whose condition cannot be determined
at the first examination are kept under observation.
OTHER DEFECTIVE CHILDREN.
One blind child is maintained at the East London Home and
School for Blind Children at Clapton.
One defective blind child is resident in the Hastings and St.
Leonard's Home.
Seven children attend the Water Lane Deaf and Dumb
Centre, West Ham, and two attend a similar centre at Gainsborough
Road, Walthamstow.
Epileptic children.—One girl is resident at Chalfont St.
Peter's, and another has been sent to St. Elizabeth's Home at
Much Hadham, Herts.
