Children referred by Head-Teachers, School Nurses, and
School Enquiry officers have been included where possible in
the medical inspections, and the annual examination of
physically handicapped children has been carried out mainly
in the school clinics.

The following table gives the number of routine medical examinations made during the last nine years:—

Malnutrition. Provision of Meals and Malt and Oil.
On referring to Table "B," and comparing these figures
with those for the last year, the following facts emerge: —
In the first age group entrants, there were 14.56 per cent.
in "A" (excellent), an increase of 2.39 per cent.; 58.04 per
cent. were in "B" (normal), an increase of .65 per cent.;
26.06 per cent. in "C" (slightly subnormal), a decrease of
1.76 per cent.; and there were 1.31 per cent. in "D" (bad),
a decrease of 1.29 per cent.
In the second age group, 8 and 9 year olds, there were
14.03 per cent. in "A," a decrease of .78 per cent.; 55.73
per cent. in "B," a decrease of 2.20 per cent.; 28.45 per
cent. in "C," a decrease of 2.76 per cent., and 1.77 per cent.
in " D," a decrease of 1.14 per cent.
In the third age group there were 19.44 per cent, in " A,"
47.22 per cent. in "B," 27.77 per cent. in "C," and 5.55
per cent. in " D."
In other routine inspections, there were 22.56 per cent.
in "A," an increase of 2.54 per cent., 52.64 per cent. in
"B," a decrease of 2.44 per cent., 22.73 per cent. in "C,"
an increase of .49 per cent., and 2.05 per cent. in "D," a
decrease of .49 per cent.
