At the end of the year a total of 367 children were
receiving free milk at school.
Ear, Nose and Throat Defects.
Individual defects are shown in Table III (Group III)
others being included in Table III (Group I).
Mr. A.B. Alexander continues to act as your laryngologist
and aural surgeon, the clinics being maintained on a
monthly basis. The cases examined at these clinics were as
follows: —

Visual Defects and External Eye Disease.
Table IV (Group II) gives the extent of the ophthalmic
work of the Eye clinic.
The increase in the number of children treated for errors
of refraction continues and it was therefore necessary to
continue the weekly sessions of the ophthalmic clinic throughout
the year.
A total of eleven children were recommended for hospital
treatment during the year for the following defects: —
Conjunctivitis 1
Tear duct infection 2
Strabismus 5
Entropiom 1
Bilateral Epiphora 1
Seborrhoeic blepharitis 1
One child with myopia was recommended for admission
to a special school. In addition to these cases the following
defects were treated:

Conjunct Photophobia 1
Epliphora 3
Conjunctivitis 1
Discharging Eye 4
Seborrhoeic blepharitis 1
Meibomian Cysts 1
Persistent Pupillary Membrane 1
Blepharitis 1
