DIPHTHERIA IMMUNISATION.
Through the services of the Council 1,538 individuals were immunised
during 1944.
RATS AND MICE DESTRUCTION.
The Middlesex County Council was the authority responsible
for the operation of the Rats and Mice (Destruction) Act, 1919
until 1st April, 1944. On that date the responsibility was delegated
to the Enfield Urban District Council.
The Infestation Division of the Ministry of Food inaugurated
a scheme of rodent control throughout the County, and the Council
co-operated in every way. A publicity campaign launched towards
