The number of house-to-house inspections made was:—

THE MILK (SPECIAL DESIGNATIONS) ORDERS, 1936 and 1933.
There are 23 Purveyors of Milk who sell or distribute Pasteurised
Milk in the district. Samples of milk have been taken and tested
SLAUGHTER-HOUSES.
There are eight slaughter-houses in Enfield, none of which is
in use at present.
During the course of the year 192 carcases were examined,
and the surrender of 3 carcases and 75 parcels of diseased organs
were secured.
The weight of these carcases and parcels was 1 ton 7 cwts.

PREVALENCE OF, AND CONTROL OVER, INFECTIOUS
AND OTHER DISEASES.
The number of cases of Scarlet Fever was 219, compared with
408 in 1942:
of Diphtheria 11, as compared with 5;
of Pulmonary Tuberculosis 125, as compared with 126; and
of Pneumonia 50, as compared with 59.
There were no deaths from Diphtheria during the year, as
was also the case in 1943.
There were no deaths from Scarlet Fever during the year, as
was also the case in 1943.
