ASSISTED MILK SUPPLY.

The quantity of fresh and dried milk supplied free to necessitous cases under the Council's Milk Supply Scheme during the year was as follows :—

Fresh Milk73¾ galls. ;cost £10 7s. 8d
Dried Milk2,703 lbs. ;cost £234 17s. 6d.

ROUTINE MEDICAL INSPECTION OF CHILDREN
UNDER FIVE YEARS OF AGE.
Following upon a resolution of the Council, the routine medical
inspection of children under five years of age was recommenced
in November.
AURAL TREATMENT.
66 mothers and children were referred to the School Aural
Clinic.
OPHTHALMIC TREATMENT.
25 Mothers and 77 children were referred 11 the School Ophthalmic
Surgeon.
CHILD LIFE PROTECTION.
PUBLIC HEALTH ACT, 1936.
At the end of 1941, 15 persons in Enfield were receiving children
for reward ; the total number of children being 17.
Routine inspection of homes where these children are cared
for is carried out throughout the year.
DENTAL TREATMENT.
667 attendances were made at the Dental Clinics by ante-natal
and nuising mothers, and 254 by children. Dentures were provided
for 72 mothers.
CONVALESCENT TREATMENT.
One child was sent away to a Convalescent Home.
