ORTHOPAEDIC TREATMENT.
Treatment was provided for 3 children needing orthopaedic
care.
DIPHTHERIA IMMUNISATION.
During the year 1,760 children under the age of five years were
immunised against diphtheria. This represents approximately 30
per cent, of the under 5 population and does not take into consideration
children who were immunised in previous years.
There is a tendency nowadays for mothers to desire to have
their children immunised at the age of one year or slightly before
and I trust that in future years there will be a sufficient proportion
of the Community immunised to ensure against the possibility of
an epidemic of this disease.
