notify every case, but the necessity for notifying
any case will be left to the discretion of the Medical
Officer of Health.
The scheme was submitted to the Ministry of
Health, who expressed general approval thereto.
This scheme came into operation on the first Monday
in November, 1938. The samples for November and
December both proved to be satisfactory.

The analytical reports on all analyses made of
the water supplied in your Borough showed that
the water was pure and wholesome and suitable for
the purposes of a public supply.
It is anticipated that the Stour Supply Scheme
(1935) will come into supply during the late Spring
or early Summer of 1940.
Early in the present year (1939) a laboratory
was built and equipped at the Company's Langham
Works and a whole-time chemist and bacteriologist,
together with an assistant chemist and bacteriologist
were engaged and 1,500 to 2,000 samples per year
are now being analysed."
Samples have been taken from three wells serving
Thornton's Farm Cottages and the reports show that in
