(1) Includes 9 cases of other diseases:
1 suffering from scarlet fever and mumps.
1 suffering from scarlet fever and diphtheria.
1 suffering from scarlet fever and chickenpox.
1 admitted as scarlet fever but actually diphtheria.
2 do. do. measles.
2 do. do. German measles.
1 do. do. tonsilitis.
(2) Includes 10 cases of other diseases :
7 cases admitted as diphtheria but actually tonsilitis.
1 case do. do. Vincent's angina.
1 case do. do. laryngitis.

(3) Diagnosis not confirmed ; one was a case of encephalitis lethargica, and
the other of surgical kidney.
(4) Includes one case of debility and 5 cases of paratyphoid B.
(5) Includes one case of scarlet fever sent in as puerperal fever.
(6) Includes one case of measles sent in as German measles.
(7) Includes one case of rheumatism, one case of sunstroke, and one in
which no definite diagnosis could be made.
(8) Includes four cases of conjunctivitis, not true ophthalmia.
(9) Includes the following : 3 cases of meningitis (1 tubercular), 5 whooping
cough, 3 septic tonsilitis, 1 otorrhœa, 1 pneumonia, 1 cellulitis of neck,
2 chickenpox, 11 enteritis and marasmus, 2 mumps, 11 with no appreciable
disease.
The average daily number of beds occupied amounted to 65.4,
as compared with 75.9 for the previous year.
