Measles.
As has been indicated previously, 1962 was not a "measles"
year. In spite of that the disease accounted for more than twice
as many notifications as any other, 69 being received. There was,
in fact, a minor outbreak in the late spring and during the last two
or three months the expected epidemic which occurred in the first
half of 1963 was building up.
Two cases were treated in hospital. No deaths from this
disease were recorded.
Meningococcal Infections.
No cases were notified during 1962.
Pneumonia.
10 cases were notified as against 21 in the previous year. There
were 49 deaths attributed to pneumonia, but this figure includes
