DENTAL REPORT
To the Chairman and, Members of the Education Committee.
I have the honour to present the Dental Report for the year
1944.
All the Elementary Schools were inspected during the year and
treatment was completed, with the exception of 148 cases awaiting
appointments. These were treated in January, 1945.

The results of the inspections were as follows :—

.The extraction of permanent teeth was 207 and of these 60 were
sound teeth removed for regulation purposes and 4 were supernumerary
teeth, a total of 64, thus, reducing the loss of permanent
teeth due to caries to 143.
The number of cases of irregularity treated by extraction was
42, and the number treated by mechanical appliances was 11.
