SCHOOL CANTEENS.
At the end of the year School Canteens were in operation at
the following Schools and .an average of 1,500 meals were being
served daily when the school attendance was normal of 4,000 approx.
It is still desirable that arrangements should be made for these
meals to be available in holiday periods :—
Stewart Fleming.
Wickham Common.
Marian Vian—All Departments.
Alexandra—Senior, Junior and Infants.
Bromley Road—Infants, Junior and Senior.
Hawes Down—All Departments.
Balgowan School—All Departments.
Churchfields—All Departments have use of British
Restaurant adjoining School and meals are sent into
the School.
Approximately 250 children received free meals at school.
MILK AT SCHOOL.
The issue of milk to schools continued, and the percentage of
children in attendance who received milk varied from 76% to 84%.'

INSPECTION CLINIC.
An Inspection Clinic was held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and
Thursdays throughout most of the year.
The total attendances were 1,511 compared with 2,578 in
1943. The Sessions held were 102, the average attendance being
14.8 per session.
