(2) The Occupier was "warned" in the case of selling after
hours, as it was his first offence.
(3) An occupier was summonsed for selling after hours. The
defendant was fined £1 0s. 0d.
DISINFECTION.
The routine disinfection of rooms and bedding after Scarlet
Fever and Diphtheria has been discontinued since 1932. Bedding is
steam disinfected after Tuberculosis, without charge, and at
Hospitals and Nursing Homes to prevent the spread of infection.
Other work is done on request and charged for.
Bedding and clothing was removed for Steam Disinfection in
111 cases, and Rooms Disinfected at 62 Houses, an amount of £23
being received for this work.
THE SHOPS ACTS.
During the year 647 visits were made under the above Acts.
The following defects were remedied during the year:—

Absence of washing facilities 6

OFFICES.
During the year Offices were inspected on eleven occasions.
Two "defects" outstanding from the previous year were remedied.
CAMPING SITES.
There are no camping sites in the area.
SWIMMING BATHS.
The only Public Swimming Baths in the area are those provided
by the Local Authority. Here a continuous filtration and chlorination
plant is in use, and two-hourly chemical tests are made throughout
the time the baths are in use. A monthly summary of these
results is submitted to the Medical Officer of Health by the Baths
Superintendent. The results obtained have been uniformly good
even during the busiest periods.
SANITARY CONDITION OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS.
The schools in the district all have good and adequate sanitary
accommodation and water supply.
