SANITARY ACCOMMODATION FOR WOMEN CLERKS, &c.
Many complaints have been received as to the absence of separate sanitary
accommodation for women employed as clerks in offices ; in some cases the
want has been discovered in the course of inspection.
In 34 cases the owners of the premises, upon the matter being brought to
their notice, have provided the necessary conveniences and wash-basins. In
only two cases was it found necessary to serve Statutory Notices.
Representations have also been made as to the dirty or defective state of
the sanitary accommodation and the want of ventilation in the same. These
defects have all been remedied.
In most cases the work required was of a structural nature, and this has
been carried out under the direction of the District Inspectors.
