Note.—Both the loss to the county and the gain to the outer ring are given as total figures,
including in first case some persons who went elsewhere than to the outer ring and
in the second case some persons who came from sources other than the county,
i.e., persons from other industrial areas who followed the movement of industry
to the London area.
* In 1922 and 1923 there were small movements away from the outer ring.
