The returns received under the Public Health (Tuberculosis) Regulations,
1930, from the medical officers of health of the metropolitan boroughs show that
there were 23,591 cases of pulmonary tuberculosis (13,492 males and 10,099 females)
and 7,462 cases of other forms of tuberculosis (3,799 males and 3,663 females) on
the registers of the metropolitan boroughs at the end of 1937.
