The whole of the work in connection with Pulmonary Tuberculosis
has been carried out in a most efficient manner by the Female
Sanitary Inspectors, and since the 1st April, 1913, more particularly
by the Health Visitor, whose whole time is devoted to this work.
The total number of visits made was 2,956 in cases of
Pulmonary Tuberculosis, 514 in Clapham, 198 in Putney, 702 in
Streatham, 443 in Tooting, and 1,099 in Wandsworth, and 657 in
cases of other forms of Tuberculosis, 85 in Clapham, 49 in Putney,
126 in Streatham, 134 in Tooting, and 263 in Wandsworth.
In addition to these visits by the Health Visitor, 891 visits were
made by the Dispensary Nurse, these visits being made by the
instruction of the Tuberculosis Officer to cases under his care at the
Dispensary.
These numbers are extremely satisfactory when the area of
the Borough is taken into consideration.
