The baths at the Disinfecting Station have been more used
this year, chiefly owing to the increase in the number of contacts
with cases of infective diseases.
The names of 561 children, 105 belonging to Clapham, 28 to
Putney, 68 to Streatham, 116 to Tooting, and 244 to Wandsworth,
stated to be in a verminous condition, were forwarded to me by
the Medical Officer, Education Department, London County
Council, and the homes were visited by the Inspectors. In the
majority of cases it was stated that only the heads of the children
were verminous, but in a few cases the body and clothing were stated
to be also verminous.
